My name is Mark Townend and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to ladiesweekends.com. I'd also like to thank you for taking the time to read and learn more about us. Therefore, let me begin by telling you how we came to exist in the first place.
Back in 2015 Joanna, my wife and subsequent co-founder of InterEvents Management (the company behind ladiesweekend.com), was working within a 4* hotel chain as an Event Manager while I was managing two teams of people within a Tech company. During that time my mother Lodge was looking for a venue within the Midlands to host a Ladies Night, at which point I put them in touch with my wife. Joanna had specialised in managing Masonic events within her hotel for a number of years and was the go to person for Ladies Nights and Ladies Weekends. All straight forward so far but alas, this is where the complications began and what is now viewed as the single event that sparked the idea for us to setup InterEvents Management.
An Events Agency whom my lodge had used previously but ultimately discarded for follow up events, caught wind that they were in conversation with my wife and her hotel. Long story short they called the hotel and demanded to be paid commission for my lodge's booking on the basis that they had used them the previous year. Upon hearing that the enquiry was direct (I put them in touch with my wife remember) they threatened to pull all business from the hotel unless they were paid commission for the event. Shockingly the hotel gave in and paid commission to this Agency for what was actually a direct booking.
It was at this point the idea for InterEvents Management was born. If an agency uses threats as part of their business model then we can provide a superior experience for both Lodges and Venues based on customer service alone. Our agency is built upon a dislike for threats and dishonesty. We firmly believe that being honest, open and fair is a much better way of doing business. After all, we want Venues to be happy when we call them and we want lodges to work with us year after year because they value the service we offer. That's our vision, that’s InterEvents.
